The Sample of the Weekly Check-in Email (from Wishkoski -Edmonds School District):
Good morning, team! I hope you had a nice weekend.
I sometimes do something to see how it goes and then how we can improve upon it, and this is one of those times. 🙂 I’ve been thinking about how to check in with everyone individually at least once a week, and since weekly one-on-ones are not feasible for us right now, and since we can sometimes get a couple of days into the week without really being able to connect, let’s try this out and see how it works: Will you please fill out this form as soon as you’re able on Monday? It shouldn’t take more than a few minutes (only two questions are required). If you have ideas for how to make this more meaningful or useful for us (e.g., changing how questions are worded, focusing questions in a different way…), please let me know!
This week:– Our team meeting is on Wednesday, and we will be making plans for the Nov/Dec Canvas training sessions. If your schools have not yet signed up for a date, please check in with them, and so far, only Maplewood has submitted sessions preferences on this form (due by this coming Friday).
– Christa is attending the Secondary Team Meeting on Tuesday; Julie’s attending the HS Math Learning & Leading on Tuesday; and Leighanne & Jason are attending the optional Newsela webinar on Wednesday. Thanks in advance for attending and sharing out notes!
– On Friday morning, we’ll all be spread around leading PD for the district job-alikes, and on Friday afternoon, all HS coaches and those K-8 coaches who can make it will be at the SLT Learning Day from 1:45-3:00pm to check in with admins about their use of Canvas.
– I will be in schools most of Tuesday, meeting with the elem librarians I’m evaluating for their BOY meetings. And I will be out all day Thursday at Danielson training again so that I’m able to do those evaluations!
Looking forward to a great week!
Warmly,Lauren

Lean information (Some Resources from DES – Department of Enterprise Services, Patrick Seigler)
There are three “quality improvement” methodologies in vogue:
- Lean
- Six Sigma
- Lean Six Sigma
Results Washington want the state agencies to focus on “pure” Lean and not on Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma.
